Spiny Eels are fascinating freshwater fish known for their long, eel-like bodies, curious personalities, and unique appearance. Despite their name, they are not true eels but belong to the Mastacembelidae family. These intelligent fish often become interactive with their owners and may even learn to hand-feed over time.

Spiny Eels enjoy burrowing into fine sand and hiding among driftwood, caves, and plants during the day before becoming more active in the evening. They make an excellent feature fish for peaceful community aquariums with suitable tank mates.
