Parva Rainbow

The Parva Rainbow is an attractive freshwater rainbowfish known for its active swimming behaviour, peaceful nature, and beautiful colouration. As the fish mature, their colours become increasingly vibrant, making them an eye-catching addition to larger planted and community aquariums.

Like most rainbowfish, Parva Rainbows are social schooling fish and are best maintained in groups. Keeping at least six individuals helps encourage natural behaviour, reduces stress, and creates an impressive display as the group actively swims throughout the aquarium.

Feeding

Parva Rainbows are enthusiastic feeders and should be provided with a varied diet consisting of quality tropical flakes or small pellets supplemented with frozen or live foods.

Suitable foods include brine shrimp, daphnia, bloodworms, and other appropriately sized foods. A varied diet helps maintain healthy growth, condition, and vibrant natural colouration.

Aquarium Care

Provide plenty of open swimming space while incorporating live plants, driftwood, and other natural features around the sides and rear of the aquarium. A planted aquarium with an open central swimming area provides an excellent environment for displaying their active schooling behaviour.

Good filtration, stable water conditions, and regular partial water changes are important. Parva Rainbows are active swimmers and appreciate well-oxygenated water with gentle to moderate circulation.

A secure aquarium lid is recommended, as rainbowfish are capable jumpers, particularly when startled.
