Directions for Use

Indian Almond Leaves can generally be added directly to the aquarium after being inspected and rinsed where appropriate.

Once added:

1. The leaf may initially float.
2. It will gradually absorb water and sink.
3. Tannins will slowly begin releasing into the aquarium.
4. Biofilm and microorganisms may develop across the surface.
5. The leaf will gradually soften and naturally break down.

Leaves can be removed once heavily decomposed or allowed to continue breaking down where appropriate for the aquarium setup.

Natural Tannins

Indian Almond Leaves release tannins that may naturally tint aquarium water yellow, brown or amber.

This colouration is normal and is often intentionally encouraged in blackwater-style aquariums.

The amount of colour produced can vary depending on:
