Planting

Remove the plant carefully from its pot and gently remove as much growing material from around the roots as practical.

When planting:

• Keep the crown of the plant above the substrate
• Avoid burying the entire plant
• Leave sufficient space for future growth
• Use root tabs or a nutrient-rich substrate where additional root nutrition is required

Crypt Melt

Cryptocoryne plants are well known for occasionally experiencing “Crypt Melt” after being moved or when aquarium conditions change.

Older leaves may soften, deteriorate or completely die back following planting. This does not necessarily mean the plant has died.

If the root system and crown remain healthy, new leaves can develop as the plant adapts to its new aquarium conditions.

Maintaining stable water parameters and avoiding unnecessary disturbance can help Crypts establish successfully.
