Planting & Maintenance

Position Lace Fern in an area where its delicate foliage has room to develop without being crowded by faster-growing plants. Depending on the particular variety supplied, it may be planted into the substrate or attached to aquarium décor.

Provide consistent lighting and nutrients to encourage healthy green growth. Remove damaged, ageing, or algae-covered leaves when required to maintain the plant's appearance and encourage fresh growth.

Avoid sudden changes in water conditions when introducing the plant to a new aquarium. Some older leaves may deteriorate while the plant adjusts and produces new growth suited to its new environment.

Aquascaping Ideas

Lace Fern works beautifully alongside driftwood, aquarium rocks, Anubias, Cryptocoryne, mosses, and other contrasting plants. Its fine foliage can be used to soften hardscape features and create additional depth within an aquascape.
