Fontinalis Rock

Fontinalis Rock is an attractive ready-to-use aquarium feature combining natural rock with live Fontinalis moss. The lush green moss creates a natural, established appearance while the rock provides structure and texture, making it an excellent addition to planted aquariums, shrimp tanks, and natural-style aquascapes.

Fontinalis is an aquatic moss that develops soft, branching growth across the rock over time. It provides excellent grazing surfaces for shrimp and small fish while also creating valuable shelter for fry and other small aquarium inhabitants. As a pre-attached feature, Fontinalis Rock can simply be positioned in the aquarium without the need for planting.

Plant Care

Place the Fontinalis Rock directly into your chosen location within the aquarium. There is no need to bury the rock or moss in the substrate.

Provide low to moderate aquarium lighting and clean, well-circulated water. Regular trimming can help maintain a compact appearance and encourage fresh growth. Remove any damaged or deteriorating sections when required.

Because moss can trap fine debris, gently moving aquarium water through the plant or occasionally rinsing it in removed aquarium water can help keep the growth clean.

Aquascaping & Benefits

Fontinalis Rock can be used individually as a small feature or combined with driftwood, larger rocks, Anubias, Java Fern, and other live plants to create a detailed natural aquascape.

Its fine growth provides excellent surfaces for biofilm to develop, making it particularly useful in shrimp aquariums. The dense moss also provides valuable shelter for juvenile shrimp and newly hatched fish fry.

Live Arrival
