Feeding Guide

Select crickets that are appropriately sized for the animal being fed. As a general guide, feeder insects should not be excessively large compared with your pet's mouth or head size.

For reptiles and amphibians, crickets can be lightly dusted with an appropriate calcium or vitamin supplement according to the nutritional requirements of the species.

Only provide an appropriate number of crickets at each feeding. Remove uneaten crickets when necessary, as loose feeders may hide within the enclosure and can potentially disturb or injure some animals.

Keeping Your Crickets

For best results, keep crickets in a well-ventilated container in a dry area away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

If keeping them for more than a short period, provide suitable cricket food or fresh vegetables along with a safe source of hydration. Avoid open containers of water, as crickets can easily drown. Commercial insect hydration gel or suitable moisture-rich foods are safer options.

Gut-loading the crickets with nutritious foods for approximately 24–48 hours before feeding can help improve their nutritional value.
