5cm Panda angel

The Panda Angelfish is a striking freshwater angelfish variety recognised for its contrasting black-and-white colouration and elegant body shape. Each fish develops its own individual pattern, giving Panda Angels a distinctive appearance that makes them an impressive centrepiece for tropical community and planted aquariums.

Like other freshwater angelfish, Panda Angels develop tall, laterally compressed bodies with long dorsal, anal, and ventral fins. They are generally peaceful when young but can become territorial as they mature, particularly when forming pairs or breeding.

Feeding

Provide a varied diet consisting of quality tropical or cichlid flakes and pellets supplemented with frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia.

Feed small portions once or twice daily, providing only what the fish can consume within a few minutes. A varied, high-quality diet helps support healthy growth, finnage, body condition, and strong natural colouration.

Aquarium Care

Panda Angelfish require a tall aquarium with plenty of swimming space. Live plants, driftwood, rocks, and other natural features can be used to create sheltered areas while still leaving open space for swimming.

Choose tank mates carefully. Suitable companions include many peaceful medium-sized tropical fish that are too large to be considered prey and are not known for fin-nipping. Very small fish and shrimp may be eaten by mature Angelfish.

As members of the cichlid family, Angelfish can become territorial when mature, particularly when a pair forms and begins spawning. Larger aquariums with visual barriers and multiple territories are recommended when keeping groups.
