Preparation & Use

Rinse the driftwood thoroughly with clean water before placing it into your aquarium. Depending on the individual piece, soaking may be required before use to help it become fully waterlogged and sink naturally.

New driftwood may release tannins into the aquarium water, creating a light yellow or brown tint. This is a natural process and is generally harmless to aquarium livestock. Soaking the wood and performing regular water changes can help reduce tannin release if clearer water is preferred.

A temporary white or clear biofilm may also develop on newly submerged driftwood. This is common and generally disappears naturally over time or can be gently removed during routine aquarium maintenance.

Aquascaping Ideas

Small driftwood pieces are ideal for creating detailed foreground and midground features. Combine them with aquarium rocks, sand, gravel, live plants, and larger pieces of wood to create natural-looking layouts.

Anubias, Java Fern, Bucephalandra, Java Moss, and other epiphytic aquarium plants can be attached directly to the wood using aquarium-safe glue, cotton thread, or fishing line.

Unused driftwood may be returned in its original condition.

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos so we can arrange a replacement or store credit where appropriate.
