Directions for Use

Indian Almond Leaves can generally be placed directly into the aquarium. Initially, the leaf may float before becoming waterlogged and sinking.

Alternatively, the leaf can be soaked beforehand if you want it to sink more quickly.

Over time, the leaf will gradually soften and break down. It can be removed and replaced when mostly decomposed or left to continue breaking down in aquariums where natural leaf litter is desired.

Tannins & Water Colour

Indian Almond Leaves naturally release tannins that may turn aquarium water yellow, amber or tea-coloured. This is normal and is often intentionally encouraged in blackwater aquarium setups.

The amount of colouration will depend on factors including:

• Water chemistry
• Filtration
• Frequency of water changes
• How long the leaves remain in the aquarium

If you prefer clearer water, use fewer leaves or replace them more frequently.
